Hello all,

I am trying to figure out how to setup 2 monitors on my FS2002 PC. What i want exactly is that the forward view in 1 screen and the instruments in the other.

Is this possible?

If so, how?

Hi

How far have you got so far? I noticed from the FS2002 forum, that you're half way there?

Hy T !

I got it working yesterday. I had 1 14" on the 4Mb card and the other on my Voodoo3 2000 16Mb.
Due to the non 3d card (the 4Mb one), it lagged the main screen. So im on my way to purchase a Radeon 7500 64Mb Dual Head AGP card. Ill see what this will do when i get home and install it!

On top of this, I am getting 2 used (perfect shape) 15" flat screens tomorow to add. So i'll have 2 15" and 2 14".
What am i going to do with all those? I don't have a clue!

Just to be clear, you need to be aware that it is not possible to have 3D on two screens simultaneously, due to restrictions within DirectX. That is fine however, if you're using one for instruments panels, as they're always 2D.

I had wondered beforehand, about that 4MB card you mentioned. It didnt seem up to the job.

Good luck

I just got that Radeon 7500 with dual head....
But before i install it, do you know of a benchmarking software (freeware) I can use to test my Voodoo3-2000 before I replace it witth the RADEON so I can see the frame rate difference?

OK! I got the 3DMark2001. My Radeon scored 2258 compared to 1120 for my Voodoo3-2000. Not bad for 120$ card I think!

Now i'm trying to setup my Dual Head, but can't seem to figure out how it works! I want my instruments on 1 and front view on the other. when I get into FS, if the rsolution is in 1024x768, i get 2 identical screen and can't go from one to the other!

If someone can help me, let me know!

You should go into the the display properties in Windows (just right click anywhere in the desktop, select properties, and configuration. There you should see two monitors. Just set one up as your primary, and the other as secondary.
Then go into FS. It should run on your primary monitor. Then just right click on any window you want, select undock, and drag it to the other monitor.
Just as simple,
Happy flying,
