What would use 4 extra buttons and 1 extra axis for?

I have a project that I'm working on, and I will have 4 buttons and 1 extra axis.
What would you use the extra buttons and axis for?
I have
CH flight sim yoke (th, prop,mix)
Ch pedals (rudder) left and right brakes
I'm not sure what to use the extra axis for?
