View Full Version : Question on new X-Plane scenery

I read about the mega scenery project at X-plane's website where they're using geological data to render highly detailed landscapes. Is the scenery as good as it sounds? Like can you follow all of the highways and small roads that are on a sectional chart, and see accurate turns in the roads, and accurate shapes of lakes and rivers? What about the elevation mesh? Just as detailed? Thanks!

The elevation will be from the recent radar mapping mission the Space Shuttle flew (I think it was a year ago or so?) so it should be pretty detailed
As for the roads, etc, from the way it sounds, they will be accurate. I do not know to what level the roads will beincluded, but I can only assume it wall atleast have all major roads... I would guess the smaller ones, too, since Austin is considering releasing it on DVD. ARGH, why oh why did i get FS2K2? Yes, it has pretty graphics... but, gr, X-Plane is SO much better. I shoud have gone with v.6
