I´m desperated: The next version isn´t going to be a free update?

The other day, I was emailed and I was told that the new version of X-Plane is going to be released soon.

I´ve just bought X-Plane a month ago, and I wonder if Austin is going to released the nexts realese 5.67, 5.68 to 5.99. or maybe We´ll have to bother and have to buy another version.

Please, remember us, and remember that when We bought the program We thought it would be update as far as the 5.99 version.

he must remenber that every one says that we're supossed to get free upgrades until at least 5.99

Well I've heard the the next version will be 5.70. Just go to x-plane.com and it will tell you all the dtetails about the next verision. I've heard that it will come out in about september or october. There will be major upgrades.

Unfortunately, they didn't promise what kind of version jumps the program will make. It sounds like this version will be a MAJOR advance in XP. Also, XP only recently became so cheap. Not long ago it was around $100, and sometime before I heard it was $250! (Check the XP web-site for possible new advances. When's the last time someone designed a real supersonic prop-driven plane in MSFS? What's that worth?) I only got XP late last year, and I'm satisfied I got my moneys worth already. I can alays keep using v5.66 as long as I want. When's the last time any other flight sim gave ANY upgrade for free? Never! A new version every year or two, and you have to shell out the dough every time!

I think even if I have to pay for the next version, I'll get more value than I would with other flight sims.

Having just bought the newly released Euro version (5.22) and subsequently downloading 80 meg worth of 5.66 I admit I would be rather peeved too. Not so much about a download - I knew enough about X-Plane to know buying the CD was really no more than a buying a license for that - but if it is a CD release I can only get from the US .. hmm.. :( I hope the discount for existing users is attractive.

I don´t know the exactly meaning of your message, but I bought my copy or right to use or CD or whatever you want to name it through Simware Simulations, the number of version is, I think, the 5.54 version. I thought or expect or believed as Warbirds, for example, that independent of the development of the next and more advanced version of it, it would be released from time to time an update of the before version.
Of course, I´ll buy the next version of X-Plane, because is the only way to go on with the good work and with the good artists, but I think there´s to give people anything different every day in order to grow and grow every day.
