Problems with Vatsim

I am helping a friend of mine to connect to Vatsim for the first time. We are in the same airport, in the same spot, face to face. Both of us connect to Vatsim. I can see him. I can chat with him. I can see his ID, but he can't see me...!
After 1 or 2 minutes he gets an error message that says something like "Can't connect via Lobby session", but still I can see his plane next to mine.
I have had no problems flying in Vatsim.
Any help?

Hi Oscar!

Check that you both are connecting to the same server and
it might be your friends pc that maked the problem. If he have any firewall program running he should change the settings in the option for the firewall program. He also have to check that the connection is accepted with the firewall program.
There can be delays with the servers that cause aircraft behave in strange manner on ground or you might se hes plane some time after he is disconnected.

We'll take a look at his firewall.
Now that I remember, we have tried before to connect via IP and The Zone, and it has been impossible.
