Hi again Andy

Always seem to be reading and then replying to your posts:

I have seen the screen shots as a pre-release set and they certainly DO NOT match the written/spoken claims from MS.

I did not see one new aircraft, the terrain looks a lot better but looking at some of it it still lacks some touches like roads etc.

The sky textures look a tad better but would have been difficult for MS to have ignored that particular problem which might not go down to well with Active Sky etc.

I just hope that FS X is going to NOT be the dissapointment it is appearing to be from the meagre press releases so far released.

Sorry to be a "party pooper" but it really would be nice to see some actual progress because what was being said did not match the words particularly in the "new" aircraft department which still showed the same old set and liveries, you would think that he could have got permission to use some real world liveries and data by now especially when you see the current level of payware and even freeware available.

Might be because of the distance involved between the USA/North American continent and us lesser mortals in the UK and Europe who pay the price but don't get the goods. FS2004 showed many discrepancies between the US release and the European release and that really needs to be looked into and perhaps convincing captain gates to sell a pan-world version with everyone getting the same version and inclusions otherwise I shall remain with FS9.

Hey Ron,

Guess I'm as skeptical and comfortable with FS9 as you, but I stubbled across a site (I'll share with all) that shows a little different side to FS 10 than what I've been hearing so far. The site had a few screenies from FS10 that showed a few things that look pretty stinking good. A lot of things grabbed my attention right away, but the first thing I picked up on was a flock of birds. That could be very interesting in an of itself (crash detection on?....oh boy!). Also noticed the shots of a Grumman Goose, and DHC-2 Beaver on floats. The scenery detail was equal to most of the add-ons I've run into for FS9 as well as the sky (sunsets, clouds, etc.) and water detail. Crystal clarity on all shots, a new livery for the Bell Ranger, a new paint job for the Skyhawk as well as great finishes on all the aircraft. I really enjoy(always have)the Skyhawk in any version of MSFS, but it had a very crude, at best, finish that made spot views almost uninteresting. There are two screenies that show the Skyhawk with a fantastic finish. Well enough running on I'll post the site so you(all) can see for yourselves. Wouldn't cut short the team that made the Flight Simulator the great program it has become just yet. Hope it's even close to what this site displays.

Guys Guys Guys,
Looks like the time has come for me to begin looking at a new system. It's been a while since I changed (Used to change every 6 mths) But if ever there was an excuse then here it is:
http://www.flightsim.com/cgi/kds/main/notams06/fsx0104.htm

You are aware of the FS X wish list forum, which will become the FS X main forum once released.
http://www.flightsim.com/dc/dcboard.php?az=show_topics&forum=32

We should really go along with protocol and keep our FS X discussions on the new forum I guess.

Best

Yeah Ron,

You know better than to bring up anything but MP topics here.....lol,

unless, of course, we'd gotten a copy of FSX for Xmas.....lol ;-).

Sorry Geoff, I'll try to keep things on the straight and narrow from now on.....:-)

Kindest regards,

You aint done anything wrong chaps :-)

I just think that because there is an FS X forum then it makes sense to use it for all FS X discussions instead of this one.
Not gonna par humbug here, the mention of FS X in passing conversation is fine with us. Just don't want any full blown FS X threads to start filling up our forum. Particularly as it will be a 'very' hot topic in the coming months.

:-) :-) :-)

Best

For those who missed, Bill Gates opened the CES in Las Vegas with the keynote speech, Microsoft gave a very quick preview of the next flight simulator.
