Our April event has now been announced. It will be a corporate jet fly-in into Augusta, Georgia for the Masters Golf Tournament. We will be playing real time in the tournament using the multiplayer capabilities of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004/2005 by EA Sports. It's going to be a blast, so save the date on your calendar. YOU may win the Masters this year!

What course will it be played on? Sounds like one I will be sure to attend. I have 2004, but not Augusta :(

Hey Ed,

Looks like another great event from you guys. Was wondering if maybe, we could get the download for the Augusta National a little early. Some of us may need more than a week or two for practice purposes.

Hi Austin,

Working on the announcement and packet now. Should be ready sometime this week.

Best,

Ed

Hey Ed,

Thanks, that's a great help. Rumor has it that there would be a few mulligans a side given to those unfortunate on-line golfers that were forced to use only one arm due to recent surgery or other related injury. Was just wondering if either you or Geoff had heard anything along these lines?

Have a nice day,

Hi Austin,

I consider the rest of us very fortunate that your "handicap" may affect your usual stellar performance. We were going to give mulligans to ourselves, so we could keep up with you, but now that won't be necessary.

:-lol

Best,

Ed

Hi Ed, Geoff, and All of the Forum Members,

Great to hear about the upcoming Masters Fly-in and Golf Tournament. I am planning on winning the tournament, so don't any of you get your hopes up too high. And come on, give Austin a few mulligans, please. He deserves them after the big race win and all the pain he's gone through!!

My game is in top condition and I'll be practicing at the Augusta National some between now and April 10th. I must admit that my pilot skills are a bit rusty, so I'll be back in the air again this month. That Daniel Field runway is a bit short for my Citation X so I have to be in my best form to land there knowing that all of you are watching.

Maybe that Tornado Wilkes fellow will even teach me to fly helicopters. That looks like a lot of fun!!

I'll drop by again from time to time. Looking forward to being with all of you again.

Bye for now,

Carol

Ya know, TW, you could kill two birds with one stone by having Carol and myself attend the same helicopter lesson.

I know who'd be my choice for a partner if we were playing a best ball format.

I don't have the program, so I guess I'll be sitting this one out.

No need to do that Andy. You are welcome to register for the session, even if you don't play golf. The golfers will be on the course around 2:00 pm local time for a while, but there will be plenty of flying going on all afternoon.

Ah, well perhaps I'll do that then.

Hi Tony,

We will be playing on the Augusta National Golf Course. Augusta is not one of the default courses of the Tiger Woods program. We will be using an excellent Tiger Woods addon developed by Ken McHale. Complete instructions for downloading and installing this course will be provided as part of the event registration packet.

Geoff and I have also been working on this project with Jim Ellis, an FS scenery designer in Augusta. I am pleased to announce that the Augusta National is now part of the Flight Sim world. Jim uploaded "auggav2.zip" to the FlightSim.com library yesterday and the course looks great. It's all coming together for the event.

Looking forward to having you with us.

Best regards,

Ed

p.s. Here are a couple of pics. The first is Jim's new scenery with the Augusta National in the foreground and nearby Daniel Field in the background. You'll find a couple of nice helipads near the clubhouse too. The second is our own Carol Johnson playing Ken's Augusta National course last year. You'll be seeing more of Carol as the month goes on....

I think we should consider *really* combining the two...
