Just a word of encouragement.
It would be terrific if all three teams took advantage of this Beta period to test the Duenna. It looks to be a splendid program that will serve us all well.
And pilots may want some experience making it work properly. Try in practice flights, for example?
Please send your comments and suggestions to John.
Best to all,
Mike

To clarify: This will not be required for this year's race, only suggested. Depending on how things go this year, we may require it next year.

How do you get it to change to the current time and date?

Hi Bill
Just click on the button "sync time" and then "+ date" - it will sync the FS UTC to your system UTC. That should give you the correct local time in the FS.

Hi John...
I hit the "sync time" and then "+ date" and it didn't change anything. Maybe I should reinstall the Duenna...
Thx...

Hi everyone
As you have all probably noticed, the FS-Flight-Analysis
doesn't cover everything and sometimes it invalidates perfectly normal
flights, seemingly without reason (ok, it has its own reasoning for
it, but it's harder to understand than any woman I know :)).
Together with the race-coordinators, Ian Dale, Matt Smith and Michael
MacKuen, I put together a small utility to help validate flights for
the race.
Note: as it is now, the rules have not been published and this program
will certainly not be the only way to validate your flights. But it
could possibly be a substitute for the FS-Flight-Analysis, if the
program functions correctly.
It does some pre-flight checks, lets you grab the baton, does checks
for the rest of the flight and the landing and in the end, creates a
small validation graphic you can upload to the forum together with a
small flight analysis text-file.
As this is completely new, we need alot of beta-testers :). Pilots,
give it a try! It would be great to be able to make sure that everyone
is following the rules, especially regarding the realism and weather
settings. Maybe this program can help to enforce these, we'll see. At
the very least, it should help cross-check the flights against our own
knowledge (average speed, etc.).
The URL is currently: http://johannesmueller.com/duenna
Let me know how it works, it still has some open issues (what program
doesn't?), but all in all it should work. I have done about 25 hrs
flight time with the program, of that probably 15 hrs with the
current version, Mike, Ian and Matt have tried it as well.
I'd love to hear from you all!
John
