Hi everyone,
I would like to set-up/link-to the PTT button on TS so it is transmitting when I press the firing button on my Saitek Cyborg joystick. Can anybody help please.

I thought I would be able to do that with my yoke after purchasing FSUIPC, but something about TS won't alow it. Even got a response from Pete Dowson confirming, but If you figure out a way, please post it!

I don't think there is a standard way to do that. The problem is that TeamSpeak doesn't monitor the joystick (or other controllers for that matter). POSSIBLY you could code a custom module, running outside of the FS, communicating with FSUIPC and the FlightSimulator, which simulates pressing of a specific key for Teamspeak... Anyone?

By the way, which buttons do you guys use for PTT? I'm new to Teamspeak and have my right Control-Key, but that's a bit out of the way when flying heavily. It would be great to be able to use a joystick key...

Use my Tab key....haven't used it for anything else in FS that I can remember and it's at the opposite side of the keyboard from my joystick.:)

Left ctrl gets the job done for me.

This is actually fairly easy to do as far as I can tell. The trick is that TS doesn't let you configure it to respond to joystick buttons. It needs a keyboard command. But you can configure your joystick button to act like a keyboard key (well actually I use a mouse key, but it should work either way). I just did this with my Saitek X36 as a test and it worked perfectly. This is assuming the Cyborgs have similar programming software, of course, but I think these things are almost universal, Saitek calls the programming software for all their joysticks the same thing, STT, so I'd assume this would work with all of them.
I have my TS set up to use mouse 4 (that weird side button often used as a back command for web browsers) as my PTT button, so I assigned that button to one of my joystick buttons. I've been meaning to do this for a long time, actually, otherwise whenever I get into a tight situation online and have to put both hands on the controls I can't talk anymore, I hate that. And I tested it with a keyboard button too (V, my old PTT button) and that worked too.
This may interfere with the standard FS behavior of using the fire trigger as a brake key, but you could always pick the period key as your PTT key and then FS would read the period as a brake command and TS would read it as a PTT command.

You should be able to program a PTT key through your joystick software if it has the option to assign keystroke commands. I use the left ctrl key on the keyboard. I use a MS Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 joystick and also have a joystick button assigned to the ctrl key. Access the joystick software through Control Panel|Gaming Devices and go to the properties for the device. Hope this helps.
