Hello Geoff and Ed,
Where's the target in the "Mt Everest Parafoil Competion"?
Trying to get in a little practice and I can't seem to see
the target area.
Also where are we going from Lukla?? Wouldn't mind flying
that leg a couple of times before the event.
Thanks so much for this forum, and all the work you two do
on these MP Adventures.

Hi Austin,
Glad to have you with us.
The exact location of the target is N28°2.12" E86°41.05" at an altitude of 16,674 feet.
We will fly from Lukla to the target area. As you leave Lukla, make a hard right turn and follow the channel on a rough heading of 005°. Follow the river until it forks and take the right turn. When it forks again, take the left turn. The target is in the valley straight ahead. You will need to climb from 9,107 feet at Lukla to around 17,000 feet by the time you reach the target area.
Have fun and see you on July 11.
Best regards,
Ed

Jeeeeeeeeeez!
That's why I couldn't find it from Luka.
I was turning left out of the airport...lol
Austin.
Great to hear from you again. Did you add the situation files, I sent you, to your 'My Documents/Flight simulator files' folder.
If so then from within FS9 you select the parafoil flight and you will see the target below. If you select the Glider flight you need to fly straight out in the direction you sre pointing and you will come across a marker on a peak. At that marker turn 90% to the right and the target will be right in front of you.
From Luka, I guess you follow Ed's directions.....:-)
Nice to see you are getting some practice in. Looks like we may have a challenge on our hands eh!
Why don't you use our FSHost server when you practice. Someone may even join ya.

Just be sure you are on a heading of 270 degrees after you leave Mt Everest. You'll find the beacon tower marker fairly soon. When you turn right, look closely for the target. It can be a bit hard to see the first time, if you don't know exactly where to look.

Hey Ed,
Thanks for the coordinates of the target area. Turns out I didn't
get the "target" itself loaded the first time. Not exactly sure
how I did that, But I cleared it all out and reinstalled every-
thing and now it's fine.
Looking forward to July 11. Thanks again and .....
Best regards
Austin

Hey Geoff,
I too was turning left from Lukla. That is were the closest
"airport" is, Guess we're just gonna follow Ed ,,,,,,, land
in the snow somewhere near the target area. Ok then
The target problem has been resolved, thanks for your help.
Also thanks for the invite to FShost. Never used that before
but I should be "foolin' around" a bit with that and FSNav this weekend.
Maybe I'll see you there if I can get it all figured out.
As always thanks and best regards,
Austin
