There are many multiplayer opportunities for flying with others using Flight Simulator 2002/2004. They run the gambit from simple hookups from one airport to another, to flying clubs, to virtual airlines, to VATSIM. The title of this forum is Multiplayer Adventures and we are trying to create something different here. Our plan is to conduct one major sanctioned event each month for the flight simulator community. We are looking for destinations that require a fair amount of upfront planning and that not only give you an opportunity to fly somewhere, but also, to do something fun when you get there.

Our first major event is already planned and ready to be announced. On June 6 we will be conducting a multi-platform fly-in and golf tournament in Maui, Hawaii, using both Flight Simulator 2002/2004 and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004. Geoff has completed some new scenery especially for this event and will be uploading it to the FlightSim.com library in the next few days. If you already have the golf program and have a few rounds under your belt, you are all set for the competition. More information on the upcoming event will be posted on this forum soon and will be officially announced as a NOTAM on the Main Page on May 15.

We are looking for additional events for the future and would appreciate your ideas. Already under consideration are: additional fly-in and golf tournaments on three additional PGA courses on the Monterey Peninsula of California using enhanced scenery for that area; fly-and-drive NASCAR stock car races; fly-and-cruise trips to distant parts of the world with local tour guides to meet us and describe major attractions in the area; and flying to major freeware scenery locations with the scenery authors themselves. We are also considering some MP competitions during the year.

We welcome your suggestions for additional events. If you are interested in proposing future sanctioned events or participating in their development, please let us know by posting a reply to this thread or sending an email or private message to Geoff or me.

Best regards,

Ed
