Awesome video Kane, I think you're the next Peter Jackson! :-jumpy :)
May I ask where you were flying the A-10? That was some amazing scenery.
12-29-2004, 06:35 PM
Thanks Leo. I dont know about the next Peter Jackson. he has a bit more scope than I do.
I was flying the A-10 around Canada actually. Bella Coola , BC. The mesh is an addon by Holger Sandmann. I think its available here or at Avsim. Check it out. Its awesome.

Kane, you video has just blown me away. Even got chills when that 111 came banking left & flat getting after it. Great tune too. Very enjoyable video, man. Thanks a boat-load from this veteran USAF airman.

Thank you Dwayne. Comments like that make the 4am tweaking all worth while :)

Nice stuff Kane.
Sigh, we've missed you at GP :-tongue
Have you considered trying to get a/c audio fx into your vids as well ? The roar of the F15 zooming past could be cool.
Also, puts on bragging hat did you get to check out my latest Nascar epic ? Enduro coverage, at simracerhq.co.nz , using Vegas and a couple of ideas seen elsewhere :)

Sorry, I missed your last vid. I will check it out. You have been doing awesome stuff with SimTV :)
Ive been having fun at Kiwisim though. Feel free to drop in and post up your vids too.
For some reason with this video, I decided not to record sound when I did all the clips. I also thought it could do with some sounds and so i had a play around with adding some in, but they didnt sound right by themselves. I considered going into flightsim and re-recording sequences to get the right sounds, but it just seemed like too much work. Next time though.

T'would appear that this artist is not the only insomniac 'round these parts. http://flightsimnetwork.com/dcforum/User_files/41d34e6a208cbe45.gif

Wonderful video Kane, amazing effects you use.
Is it the DSB F-15E your using in the film, at one point i thought shame the bombs can't be dropped and seconds later away they went lol.

Thanks Leo. Yup, it's the DSB F-15E.

Been there, done that :-lol
I kid, I kid.
Its worth the effort with the sounds. I'll probably have to start doing the same as Vegas and Premiere have serious issues with sound/video syncronisation if the imported files are in DivX. So I'd have to rip my DivX files (about 3 and a half hours for 30 minutes video and on average, one of my videos will have atleast 90 minutes footage) and then re-encode those DivX files into wmv which is another hour or so per 30 minutes.
Then the sound matches up fine, but its such a fuss its sure put me off making videos. And I'd have dropped from 4000kps to 2000kps before I even start editing.
Though I guess I could just be building up my strength for the official Posky 767 video. Really looking forward to that. :D

Really awesome Kane!!!!!!

Thanks Bryan and Richard.
Yeah, if I had recorded the sounds originally, it would have been much easier to put in the jet engine sounds. As it was it was going to take too much farting around so I just left it. oops ;)

Wow that is too good. I have most of your video's saved Grover and love to look at them from time to time. Thank you for another one. Being that I spent 10 years in the USAF it is nice to have that theme.

Without spending an excessive amount of time composing, I could not come up with a fitting reply. All I'll say is that that was one of the best pieces of cinematography (using the term loosely) I've seen, and unless you have done already, you should think about a career in that area. You have unbelievable talent.

Thanks you Angus, Flo and Andrew. It was a really fun vid to make and so I'm glad you all liked it.

Very very very nice! I love the planes, my fiancee and sister loved the music! Who is the artist?
01-02-2005, 01:16 AM
OOOooooo , Ryan! That was Gavin DeGraw's "I don't want to be". Ain'tchoohip? :-lol Excellent musician.
Glad you brought this puppy back to the top. This artist wishes to watch it again. In years of downloading flight sim videos, this is the only one I'm keeping on my hard drive so far ... & this simpi has seen some great ones.
Just do it

This is a video of the US Air Force which I created yesterday. It came out of a song a friend gave me to listen to which I thought had to be made into a video. The problem was I couldnt decide which plane to use as the subject, so I decided to use a bunch of them, and a USAF theme kind of evolved. I hope you enjoy it. I couldnt include all USAF planes available, but these are most of the ones I have.
All planes and creators are stated in the readme file as well as repainters where they have been known.
The video can be downloaded here -> [link:www.grover.co.nz/movies/usaf.zip|USAF.Zip] (25 meg WMV file)
Here are some screen captures from the movie. Sorry about the quality of some of them
