Hi,
Just installed a geforce 4 MX 440 card from the Geforce 3 TI500 and I have just noticed that when flying with FS2002 the chrome textures are not displayed anymore..... I have everything enabled but alas no shiny surfaces....
Just wondered if anyone else has experienced the same prob.. apart from that the card literally flies with everything turned up (no pun intended) using AMD1700XP CPU...
Oh by the way ...no wise suggestions such as try using chrome cleaner on your monitor :-lol
Kind regards
Paul UK

I have a similiar problem with my Geforce 3 Ti 500. Not the chrome textures are not shown, but the asphalt textures at certain airports. For example at San Francisco Intl. or King Airport, Virgin Islands.

Interesting upgrade, according to Toms Hardware benchmarks the GeForce4 MX440 does not perform as well as as GeForce3 Ti500!!!
Have you noticed any difference?

I heard the same thing. The Ti series are far superior to the MX and upgrading from Ge-Force 3 TI to Ge-Force 4MX may have not been wise. Can you exchange it for the Ge-Force 4 TI?

Fortunately I am the owner of a company that manufactures computer systems so I am in a relatively good position to try any graphics card that comes my way... I realise that the Ti range is better than the MX range but at the moment the Ge force 4 Ti cards are not yet readily available in the UK .... as far as performance goes I really cannot see any difference between the Geforce 3 Ti 500 card and the geforce 4 MX 440 so my bet for all you out there who can't wait to get your hands on a new card is to go for the Geforce 4 MX 440...it is blisteringly good in FS2002 and pound for pound it totally outstrips the rest... cost well I was retailing the Geforce 3TI 500 for about £265.00 inc vat and this new Ge force 4 will retail from my store for approx £130.00 ..so one hell of a price difference for no real difference in performance.... I just wish I knew the answer to my 'chrome problem' Today I am trying another card to see if there is a fault on the original one in my machine
Kind regards
Paul.

Must be nice to have your own computer shop, and have to "test" out all the latest stuff like that. I bought a brand new car once. It had 253miles on the clock. The salesman said that was the "delivery" mileage. I guess he meant delivering his family to their holiday villa.
