Great shots Brumby! That's a great idea to make these flights, i will enjoy this a lot! Thanks to X-Plane, the only one that allows us to do this, I love it! :7
Wow Space flights, I thought we would have to wait more years to see it happen. What a shame I have no $200,000!

You know what I think? The demand is going to be so great that the price will come down. I think it is time for a Virgin Galactic Virtual Airlines in X-Plane...:D

Excellent post Brumby! I read in the Newspaper yesterday that Sir Richard Branson - the CEO and owner of Virin Atlantic has signed a contract with Burt Rutan and Scaled Composites to launch space flights in 2007 with an aircraft/spaceship based on Spaceship One.
The flights will last 2 Hours and all customers will recieve a weeks training before the flight. Cost will initially be US $200,000 each and over time the cost should be more reasonable for the private citizen.
The ships will be pressurized with no need for oxygen masks or space suits - and believe it or not - the first spacecraft will be called "Enterprise".
What an amazing advancement in air travel!!!
I will try to find some pics if the Virgin ship for you.

What an outstanding day of history in the making. Space Ship One's first official qualifing launch to secure the X-Prize and be the first privately funded launch to orbit was a great success today over the Mohjave Desert. The X-Plane flight sim is the only sim out there that can handle this in the virtual world. FS2004 could never handle the physics. I have decided to re-produce these amazing flights for you. I have been a huge fan of the X-Plane sim ever since it was created. In fact I used to host updates for the software on my aviation server a couple years ago. So, I am very familiar with it and guess what? The White Knight and Space Ship One are available and can actually fly these senerios. For your enjoyment part-1 though part-3 will be a test of the gliding charcteristics and nav systems. Part-1 and 2 will be a drop from 25,000 feet, part-3 from 53,000 the official drop altitude for the powered launch to orbit. Part-4 will be a drop from 25,000 feet and rocket boost to about 50,000. Part-5 a drop from 53,000 feet and rocket boost to just below the required 62 miles. Part-6 we will go for the gold.
