This was a popular thread before.

You go out Oct 18th, buy a copy of FS2002 (Standard or Pro), stop by Chicago to watch Michelle in her... beanie, and then head home and install it. What's the first thing you'll do?

Me, I'm hitting the back country of Alaska. Hoorah.

I won't anticipate doing anything untill I make sure it loads and actually runs!

But if it does, I will probably shoot the NDB 22 approach at SCH to see how the C172 handles

As soon as I get it running and fiddle with the display settings, I'll fly around the Chicago area in the 172 (assuming Meigs is still the default flight; if any BETA testers can confirm this now, please do!)

Then I'll fly the x-country I've been planning for months now - CGX (Meigs) to my home-base P37 (McVille) in western PA.

This Friday! It doesn't seem real !

LAST EDITED ON Oct-16-01 AT 10:19PM (EDT)[p]In an earlier (and rather interesting post on the FS2002 forum) Michelle voiced her disbelief that FS2002 would be released this soon by saying something to the effect of, "if it comes out then I will run down the streets of Chicago wearing only a beanie and clog shoes." I must say that it added quite a bit of levity to the situation. Well Michelle, it's time to face the music ;)

A Ray Steven's song comes to mind...

LAST EDITED ON Oct-17-01 AT 07:43AM (EDT)[p]Well the first thing I'll do after setup will be to take a look at my home airport (KMPV) then fly around VT in the Caravan Amphibian and do some splash and go's on a bunch of ponds and lakes here in the north country and maybe the Conetticut river too, right by KLEB. Then I'll fly to KBTV and land in Burlington Harbor on Lake Champlain

:-wave Hi All! Never posted before so I though I'd say hi first.

What will I do? well, the first thing I'll do when attaining my copy will be to...ram a 747 into the water and see the effects}> Then I'll go check out my local airport (Cambridge [EGSC]) Then I'll fly down to London in the floatplane and land in the River Thames. Ahh, can't wait!

I have a place up on Isle La Motte, and while not perfect, the lake is well modeled. I can almost make out the definition of Mt. Mansfield!

The Burlington hill & harbor area is noticable! Slope the the shore!!

Awesome, I wonder how well Camels Hump is modeled... Eddie Denny's add on terrain mesh made it look right, I hope Microsoft did too.

I'll probably head for the Rocky Mountains to check out that supposedly excellent mountain scenery. Hopefully, It'll be something other than a line of pointed polygons placed on the ground as it has been in previous versions. After that, it's time for landing back in Denver, a plane change, then takeoff for Detroit - my hometown.

Just decided to do a few extra things as well.

1. Take the Caravan Amphibian up to Northern Michigan and see if I can spot the river that my cabin is on up there. If it's there, I'm going to thread my way through the trees that will thickly line the banks, and attempt to make a landing. :-cool

2. Take the C172 out for a spin in NYC and see what the landscape is like w/o the Twin Towers. :-(

3. Crash all of the default planes into wilderness areas to see the effects.

I can hardly wait :-jumpy

Haven't changed my plans. Cessna Caravan VFR YSCN to YSBK. That's only about a 5 minute flight, as I know I'll come up with a million other things I want to do whilst I'm in the air. And I'm not a patient guy!

I really have no clue of what I will do. But if i am to have any plan its to fly out of my local airport MMK (Meriden Markham Municipal) and check out how they did the scenery. Then I'll take a spin in that beautiful Bell 206 and then fly my favorite plane the King Air, then the Lear, and then the 172...and then...I dunno :-hmmm . I CAN"T WAIT FOR THIS!!!! lol its gonna kick ass! :-jumpy

And don't even say it was a joke. It's not funny at all. I'm not laughing, and I'm sure the other serious simmers in here aren't either.

I'll probably take off from my home field of Villeneuve, Alberta, fly around the Edmonton area, and then land, switching to the Caravan, and head for Vermillion Bay, Ontario, where I hope to be able to land by my cottage, on Canyon Lake.
