wow .....that is very neat! I can see that the rear gunner would have a better shot at enemy aircraft coming up from behind and also a much poorer chance of actually blowing off his own tail hehe.

Interesting ideas and cool shots!

Very nice shots of a wacky bird, Mike. I'm a bit surprised that performance wasn't much better than the JU87. Seems like it would have a lot less drag. Perhaps they were still using a similarly underpowered engine? - Matt D.

This aircraft was meant to replace the aging JU-87 Stuka. It never went into service, as the FW-190 was doing a nice job as a strike aircraft. This bird only made it through wind tunnel testing and never flew. One interesting aspect is that the tail surface rotates 180 degrees and points down during flight, and up while the gear is down.
