I don't think so, there's a winglet on the left side and none on the right. So wouldn't the plane try to turn left? Can I have my winglet back, by the way?

No, Kevin, you can not have your winglet back. :-lol

I think it became ridiculous when Kevin did not know what a fad was, or when he said he stored his Boeing 747 with one winglet in an underwater cartoon land.
What have we learned from this thread? Well, Kevin knows very little, and that he is the master of immaturity!!!

Here we go with age discrimination again. I belive Kevin is at the ripe age of 14. I myself have recently turned 13. I belive that age has nothing to do with how mature you act, its only a matter of physical appearance.
Kevin is a prime example of why age discrimination exists. No offense buddy, but grow up a bit! Act your age. I don't want to hurt you feelings, or make that other winglet fall off your 747, but you really need to look into things for yourself, and stop posting these random nonsense threads. So what if your winglet fell off? Its a game my friend! Games have glitches. Accept the fact that this is not real, its a simulator.
Don't write your thread around something like "Darn, my winglet fell off." You could have posted the route you were flying, why you were flying it, etc. Then you could have said mid-air, "Whoa, check that out, I had my winglet fly off! I guess I should have that repaired :-lol." Then just leave it at that. You repeated yourself 9,000 times there.
Another tip for your screenshots, try to take screenshots of different areas of flight. IE: Take one shot of the plane sitting on the ramp/at the gate. I personally don't want to scroll through 20 screenshots of your "walk around" before I see the good stuff. Your screenshots are fine in flight, I actually like them, but then you start to nit-pick stuff out and repeat stuff over and over again. Other then that, they look good!
Also, try not to take things so seriously. You'll never get any fun out of life if you try to prove the person wrong about the pink monkey joke, because there are no pink monkeys.
And last but not least, TAKE PEOPLES' ADVICE. You'll never get ANYWHERE if you think you are #####, you know everything, and everyone else are a bunch of idiots. Truth is, most of the people here know what they are talking about, why don't you listen once? I admit it, I'm not near perfect, and I love to hear other peoples' opinions. If you don't want peoples' comments, just don't post a thread! It makes no sense.
I hope I have not come across harsh, mean, sarcastic, or anything like that. I merely wanted to help you in this post. If this gets me banned, oh well, I want to share my help with you. Now all you have to do is listen. If there something you don't agree with, ignore it!
If you ever need any help, catch me on AIM/MSN. Don't want to seem like a big fat meanie :)

Just a little data on age discrimination for your edification. The human brain isn’t fully developed until around age 21. So if adults don’t treat children the same way they treat other adults it is because children are not miniature adults. They aren’t even complete humans yet. You don’t have all the tools yet. We (adults) treat children like children because we have to, not just to be mean.

You seem confused. What I said wasn’t a matter of opinion; it is a matter of fact. I am a nurse, which means I am well versed in human anatomy and physiology. I also have a BA in psychology which covered human maturation in painful detail. Children and adults are biologically different. This disparity is usually corrected with age.
I am 44.

There is something that must remain clear, however.
I will NOT respect someone based on their talents, career, or any of that sort.
Respect is something I have for someone who respects back. It is mutual. I don't care if the person is 30 years older than me.
MANY of the members here are younger than me and I respect them equally as I do to the older ones. It's not a matter of age. Age says NOTHING.
And I'm sure many of the older members here would agree with me that what Ed has said is very ignorant. Of course, they won't post anything regarding this, because it may bring trouble. Besides, thread's probably's gonna get locked anyway.

AngelFuree
04-17-2004, 07:52 PM
See, Ed's words usually come from the person who was treated that way when he/she was a child. There are many adults who discriminate once they're older because they were discriminated themselves when young...sighs...

The word was edification. Edify yourself, look it up.
It’s real important for the safety of the world’s children that everyone understands that children and adults are not the same. It is a biological fact that can’t be wished away just because it offends young people. It is a GOOD thing, not a bad thing.
Human maturation is something we know a great deal about. And one thing we know with absolute certainty is that it takes time for a human child to fully mature. About 21 years. Forethought is the last thing to develop, although some young adults seem to reach that watermark faster than others. This might just be socialization.
If you truly believe that humans are born into this world fully developed then I can’t help you, or change your mind. I do have to suggest that you don’t let toddlers drive.

Holliday

There are well defined levels of maturation based on biology, level of intellectual development and other measures. Some people never reach the point where they are capable of complex logic, just to name one thing. On the other hand you might find many young people who have already reached that level. It is a personal thing. But the fact that children and adults are different should be obvious. I mean, you have noticed how short three year olds are, right?
You seem to think that just because I know that children and adults are different that I treat young people badly. Ask Kevin how bad I have treated him. I work with kids all the time and I love every minute of it. I also keep in mind what is good for them and what isn’t. Children should be given the latitude to learn and grow without being stifled or over protected. But care needs to be taken to insure their safety. I can’t treat a child exactly the way I want to be treated because I get to do things children shouldn’t do. I can, and do, treat children with respect and caring. I help people, I save lives and I have changed many people’s lives with my actions. Don’t think you know anything about me. Based on your argument children should be allowed to drink and smoke and all the other things adults do. The people who abuse children in the most heinous ways use your argument to justify their behavior; children are just little adults, and should be treated as such. So many atrocities have been perpetrated against children using that argument I can’t believe you actually would use it yourself.
For those that need to be edified:
edification
\Ed`i*fi*ca"tion\, n. [L. aedificatio: cf. F. ['e]dification. See Edify.] 1. The act of edifying, or the state of being edified; a building up, especially in a moral or spiritual sense; moral, intellectual, or spiritual improvement; instruction.
MeltedPixel
04-17-2004, 08:14 PM
Holliday, I think you did not get what I was trying to present. I meant to a certain level, you seemed to just bend everything to make it seem like young people should be allowed to drink, smoke, etc. Well, I think they should in an aspect. If the kid wants to smoke, that is his choice. Heck, most kids right now could get drugs from school in a matter of minutes if they wanted to. They don't abide to the law in many aspects.
I don't see how drugs and driving concern maturity levels, which is the subject that we were on...
AngelFuree
04-17-2004, 08:18 PM
If your purpose was to confuse the #### out of me, then you get an applause.
<<Based on your argument children should be allowed to drink and smoke and all the other things adults do.>>
The key argument here is maturity. I don't see why you bring this up.
BUT,
by the way it sounds, you DO see smoking and drinking as a "good" thing, that children wouldn't handle. No, of course they wouldn't handle such things. Hell, adults can't even control themselves with it.
Again, this is completely irrelavant so we'll let it go.
Oh, and you're very right.
I DON'T know you. That's why I say what I'm saying. I don't know if your words are sincere or not. I don't know if you're just saying that to look like a good samaritan. So that people think you're a nice guy. So you can have attention.
Nope, bad take Mr. Knapp.
But this is all pretty much a matter of opinion. So, if such is your case, then it must be respected. I'm not really getting anything out of this.

If you go back to the original thread I didn't say anything bad about children. I said they are biologically different. The human brain takes years to develop. It isn’t my fault. But I dare anyone here to prove it doesn’t take years. I treat children with more latitude than most adults I know. My niece and nephew love to hang out with me because they KNOW we will be doing things their mother hates. I don’t treat them like they are idiots because their little brains aren’t done developing yet.
I mentioned that the last thing to develop is foresight. Foresight is what we use when we make major decisions. It isn’t my fault that it develops last. I wasn’t asked for my opinion when humans were designed. So no, a teenager is not qualified to decide if they should smoke or not. The synapses haven’t developed yet (have I mentioned this isn’t my fault?). I can’t believe there are people here that think children and adults are the same thing; just sized different. All I can say is go take at least two semesters of university level A&P, and Human Growth and Development too and then come back and we will talk.

But it isn't a matter of opinion (ok some of it is). What is fact beyond doubt is that humans take time to mature. The brain doesn't finish up until around age 21. And then it is all down hill from there so enjoy it. But neither your opinion nor mine will change that fact.
As for me, and the way I treat children, ask Kevin who paid for (and painted) his Citation X. Then ask the adults around here how many presents I have gotten them. So far the kids are ahead.

Now you remind me...
...no two psychologists are alike.
Hmm...now why would that be? AND they're univeristy educated. You seem to have lost yourself.
Anything else Mr. Knapp?

See that's the thing. I believe, as so do others, that maturity is something that is ongoing. There is no such thing as "stopping" the maturing process. There's is not a defined age where someone fully matures. It just doesn't happen. Period.

Ooh, so that's why you speak this way?
You buy people's "friendships" Mr. Knapp? Is that so?
I'll tell you something. Not everyone will be "bought". So don't start making that a habit. Take my word. ;-)
By the way, I'm a "kid" myself, so I don't see why you're telling me that "the kids are ahead"...:-hmmm

No two humans are alike, for that matter. But maturation is well documented, and has been for some time. I refuse to believe that anyone as articulate as you are thinks human children are born fully developed. That just doesn’t make sense to me. You do understand that humans develop biologically as they grow, right? You know that you were born with a hole in your heart that closed itself just after birth, along with a number of other biological changes that occur at the same time. See, that is a biological development. It continues on after birth for 21 years. At that point you are done as far as biology goes. Intellectual growth can continue till death.

Now we are on the same page. Like I just said above (we posted at the same time) human growth goes on until death. Biologically it stops at 21.
As for buying friendship I really resent that. I bought him that jet because he was being treated like ##### by many of the people here who apparently don't think the way you do. I did it out of kindness because he was being kicked like a dog. I won't make that mistake again.

While we'ere on the "All I can say is go take at least two semesters of university level A&P, and Human Growth and Development too and then come back and we will talk." topic- I'll add in my opinion.
Ed, how about you put yourself if a teenagers shoes and then see what you say? I'm about to be 16, that is 5 years (f-i-v-e) years until I am 21. Will I mature more during this time period? Of Course. Will I learn more during this time period? Of course. Will my instincts change during this time period? No. Instinct is defined as "An inborn pattern of behavior that is characteristic of a species and is often a response to specific environmental stimuli." It is like a defense mechanism in this case- yours is working against Angel, and his is working against you. My point? You both will see this case differently because thats who you are!

I have no idea how old you are, so you can't accuse me of treating you special because you are a "kid". I was doing what you asked; I was treating you like everyone else. If you don’t want to be treated like everyone else then let us all know now because I can’t keep up with it.
Back to the "buying friendships" thing. That offends me so much I can even describe it. That hurt on a very personal level. I have been considering retirement for a while now; and now I know why. If I post in this forum again assume there is a gun to my head. I am done here, with this thread, with this forum and with this hobby.
Kevin, take care of yourself and don’t let anyone push you around. You’re tough, I can tell. Stay that way buddy.

Ed, I'm gonna go ahead and stop here. I think we've reached a point of "agreement".
<<As for buying friendship I really resent that.>>
I very much apologize for that. But as I've said before, I don't know you personally, so I can only speak based on what you've written.
I've actually met (in person) about three other people from the internet, who seem like complete #####és online but are nice people in real life. So, that says something about the internet. :-shy
