My flightsim was working fine the other night and today I keep on getting illegal opperations errors right after the fs2K logo comes up. What is the deal? http://208.56.92.134/dustin/BWI_NEW/fs2000.jpg

Did you add anything new to your FS2000 file?If you did remove it
and try running again.

Looks like it is time to do a re-install!

A couple things might be causing it.
1. Scenery addons with incorrect texture file sizes...
2. Starting the sim using a non-default plane.
I have had trouble with both... once changed, it corrected my own problem.

hi,
and now for a response that's actually helpful: go into your fs2000.cfg file, and look for a line that describes your startup situation. I don't have it on this PC, but it reads something like:
situation=PILOTS\something.flt
delete everything after the =
your sim should now start with the default situation at meigs.
If the line above isn't 100% accurate, just look through the fs2000.cfg file until you find something that looks like a situation file that gets loaded and delete it.
you don't need to reinstall.
if all else fails, backup (i.e. move to another location) your fs2000.cfg file, and delete the original in the fs2000 folder, then start up the sim... everything resets to default, but it's a hell of a lot better than reinstalling...
bye

Page Faults are often fixed by defragging your hard disk...you should do it regularly anyway :-)

Eh hem... didn't I just suggest that the startup might be the issue with a non default plane????
sigh...

i never knew you could do this... it's a tip from ron ackerley on another forum:
***
If you need to reset your default situation you can always do this to get you going.
Click on the FS2000 Icon. Hold down the left shift key until the program fully loads.
This loads the default situation at meigs with standard settings for everything. Once your in there you should be able to select another craft and proceed as normal.
