Nice, welcome to the forum!
":-sleepy"??? That isn't exactly home-welcoming, is it? :-roll

Clynefan, welcome to the forums and i hope you like it here! :-jumpy

Yes, I am. You and everyone on the foums know that that type of screenshot is honestly not THAT good. I mean come on, NOBODY EVER says 'oh thats not a really good shot personally' its always hey, great shot, or, nice one!!
I dont mean to be mean to him about his first shots, but they are not very good in MY OPINION. Its of an everyday aircraft sitting on the ground....
Its my opinion.
Welcome to the forums, hope you like it.

Perhaps you should have clicked the link before judging him. Click that link and look at his shots, the sunset shots are remarkable.
Didnt anyone ever teach you if you dont something nice to say dont say it all?

Wow! Never expected to get berated for my shots.
Thank you to most of you for the welcoming and kind words. I appreciate it. I've been flying FS since the early days, and just now started thinking about taking screen shots. So I thougth I'd post and see how I was doing. I appreciate the good comments, especially about my sunset shots. Thanks.
And to Armitage and Wishmaster, sorry they don't live up to your apparently unbelievable expectations. What can I say, I did note that they were my first screenshots. I guess I'll go back and completely master the technique before I waste any more of your precious time! :-roll And as keaja said, maybe you should try clicking the link for the rest of the series next time before you slam me for my one tarmac shot. Whatever!

haha silly Armitage :P
I personally dont like to go to another page to view someones shots when this is a screenshot forum noa forum for other pages screenshots. i mean we could have a link to a page that has a ling to another page and it could take 200 links until we finally find tthe pics so i like to find them right on the page.
and the shot isn't too exciting but still pretty nice :)

Well, I'll take your insight into consideration. I originally only planned on posting them at fsscreenshots, but decided to post a link here too and didn't have the time to upload the series all over again. So I did what I've seen other folks do, like Peter McCleland, and posted #1 in the series with a link to the rest. I don't recall seeing him ever catch flak for it. Granted, his shots are outstanding, so I guess you'd have to cut him major slack.

Hey, Armitage_Shanks, I bet you and all of those "I'm the best screenshot taker around" folks can do better if you think - honestly - that clynefan's shots are "not that good" (in your own words); I never see you posting, I'd like to see some of your superior :-lol screenshots, let's see if they are "good enough" for you to have any rights to say otherwise about anybody else's screenshot taking work.
If you don't like them, don't comment at all, what do you say. Come on, show us some of your own shots, let's see if you have any rights to play judge around here :-roll

Don't be put off by Armitage and Wishmaster, not everyone here is like that... :-lol
Hey, please feel welcome here:-jumpy. Nice shots on the link mister!
Too bad about some irritating comments!

Thanks everyone! I'll be back. It honestly takes more than a couple of folks like that to keep me away.
It just kinda cracks me up. I never posted anything like, "Hey come look at my awesome screenshots". I made a point of saying they were my first, and posted them looking for opinions and "constructive" criticism. Many of the people on this board post some phenomenal shots and I would just like to learn how, that's all.
I shall return with more of my sub-par pictures! ;) :-lol
armitrage, foolish child:-lol How come i never see ur shots as someone above mentioned. I would like to see one of urs. Some people cant afford the top systems and graphics cards. Clynefan, welcome again and try to ignore people like armitrage.

Welcome to the forums Clynefan!:) Thos are some pretty good shots and are great for your first shots, keep them up and ignore the bad people!

Thanks! I've already pretty much forgotten about the petty comments.
I too would like to see some shots from Armitage and Wishmaster. They seem to be those that talk the talk, but don't really walk the walk.
i have a feeling you will make some very good friends here chris.

Hey, everyone here asks for comments; not everyone sees pictures the same way. I personally don't like the pics. Kill me then... ##### forbid I state my opinion here rather than roll on my back like everyone else!! If you want some screenshots from me, I will post some. You may or may not like them, I dont care.
Your good friend,
Armitage

If you disliked the pictures, you could have put your statement it in a kinder, more respectful way, instead of saying:
"That was terrible. What are you taking a pic of????"
That didn't sound very nice, specially for a new poster. Yours is exactly the opposite of the kind of attitude we're used to in this forum, I'm sorry to say. Nobody is asking you to like every screenshot or picture you see, but at least be nice and polite if you want to state otherwise, specially regarding new, unexperienced users.

Well seeing you're asking people. Yes I have seen your screen shots.
Why do you have the extra info at the top of the screen - position, fps, sound off etc ?

Welcome to the forum Chris. :-wave I think your shots are pretty good.
Try not worry about whether your shots are good enough or not just try to have fun and post away. Most of the forum members are here to offer support and enjoy the sim the same as you. Looking forward to more shots from you.
Colorado Springs! Sounds like a great place to live. Maybe you could post some local shots. :-)

To Clynefan: I am personally sorry for dissing your screenies. I hope you will forgive me and maybe we could be friends. Hope you didn't have my name on your list.

No one says you have to like every shot you look at and no one says you can't state your opinion. That said - most of us are here to have a good time and enjoy the hobby so we try to be supportive of others' efforts and contribute when we so choose.
If you don't think it's a good shot - fine. You're entitled to your opinion and you can voice it if you so choose. But also know that if you do so others may also voice their opinions.

Hey guys. It's all cool. Thank you Wishmaster, I appreciate it.
And everyone, feel free to fire away with any positive feedback on good techniques for making better shots! I'm all ears. :)

Nice screens. Some of the screens in the link you have posted are very good. Better than mine... :-tongue
But i have something to say. It's my "welcome tip" :-lol . From all the screens you posted on fsscreenshots you should have chosen another one to post here with the link. When i first looked at your message i didn't click the link because the screen posted here on flightsim didn't make me want to take a look at the other screens. If you had posted one of the sunset shots here i would have definitively clicked on your link the first time.
Welcome to the forum.

guys.. me thinks all of you who have been welcoming as that should be sent to charm school.. its not a way really to welcome somebody to the forum.. even if you think the screenshot is not that great.
Remember: Its his first post for heavens sake, he'll learn and only get better, so i suggest you get off his back, adn start treating him properly and with respect! :-)

Welcome to the forums, Chris! Granted this shot doesn't look impressive enough for me to want to click the link... So, it'll definitely be a good idea to post a more striking one! :D
One tip... take the screenshot in high resolution (1280x1024x32) and reduce dimensions by 50%... That should remove a lot of the jaggies... Not to mention that it cuts down on your file size. :D
Welcome to the forums. I personally love some of your shots on the link. Armatige i am disapionted in you the guy is new its his first post leave him alone you big bully. Well done. (some people:-lol)

Great shots Chris!!:-)
I'm sorry, that some people here didn't give you the warm welcome that you expected but most of us are very happy to have you onboard with us! OK, maybe the shots might not be as stunning as those of the guys here in the forum with 2000+ shots but that's practice.....a few more posts and you'll be one of the hits of the forum! Again, welcome to the forum!!:D
