Hi Tinfish!

Thanks to your screens in this forum I downloaded the demo of XP 7.00 beta 5 last week and I was instantly hooked! :-)

The XP flightmodel 'feels' so much more realistic than the FS counterpart! :-)

Thanks for sharing!

yes, X-Plane is great for rolling around the skies in heavy airliners as if there were F16's in disguise ;)

Hope you enjoy it Christian!
Just ignore the clouds in the beta 7 version. they are very basic - not nearly as good as version 6. But this is being worked on by the cloud wizards at X-Sky (a freeware XP add-on).

Useful tip. When the joystick disables after six minutes - as it does in the demo - you can still fly using the throttle, the Auto-pilot, or the "AI" option (which fly's your plane for you and allows you to check out how the sim looks in flight. I think the AI option is found under the "Special" tab.

Sounds update

Also, if anyone is interested, I recently put together a new sounds package for X-plane versions 5-xx and 6-xx,, which people seem to like much better than the default XP sounds. I'm told it can also be used in X-plane version 7xx, but that you need to rename some of the sound files.

Heres the link and info for my 'new sounds' download.

Update/info (from X-plane forum)

I've just uploaded a replacement sounds package for X-plane which I think greatly improves some of the default sounds, including takeoff noises, landing sounds and crash alerts etc.
Hope you enjoy its as much as I do.
