They say flying an aircraft is the second greatest thrill a man can
have. Landing an aircraft is of course number one. As a pilot I
have experienced both. When I am not flying high above the beaches of
South Carolina or the north Georgia mountains I can be found at my
computer improving the flight dynamics or researching the next
historical repaint for Flight Simulator. I always include a history
doc with the aircraft. In some small way I feel I am helping
preserve the memory of the men and the machines they flew.Early on RDG (Rooks Design Graphics) emphasis was to modify aircraft for combat simulation (like my Ghost Corsair for CFS2) and bare metal textures. More recently RDG has concentrated its efforts on flight dynamics and flight simulator effects.
In closing a little personal data: I am a mechanical engineer, pilot, and a member of the local pilots association (KLRO) and a mission pilot for Mercy Flight. My flying happened by accident literally. I was a avid mountain climber / trainer (Army Rangers). I used mountain climbing to simply reach the top for the view. After a severe fall ended my mountain climbing ability. I still desired the view from the top so I took of flying and reached new heights.
