'm
33 years old, and I live in Toulouse, France. Maybe you know this
place, where the Airbus planes (A320, A330, A340 etc) are assembled.
My professional career? Software development engineer! But
unfortunately, not in any flight sim related domain... I'm working on
client/server applications, with Sybase, Netware, Unix, etc etc. Not
very funny in fact ;-)I've been a flight sim fan for two years now, we can say that I'm a "new" simmer as I discovered FS5 one day, but I've never played with FS4 and all the previous FS versions.
When I started playing with FS5 two years ago, I was a little bit unsatisfied because there was only a dozen of airports in my country, and absolutely nothing to see in the place I've been living in. At this moment, two BGL compilers used to be available in the freeware domain, so I started learning the BGL state of art. Quickly, I understood that it was possible to enhance compilers, especially by creating a sort of 3rd level language to make the BGL development get more simple for the user. Some weeks after, I decided to implement a basic graphic interface in order to provide more comfort. The Airport project had started...
The first version I released on Compuserve and Internet was Airport 1.12, less than one year ago. I got feedback from a lot of worldwide users, and last summer, I released the last Airport DOS version, named 1.23.
Now, the time has come for Airport 2.00, which is a full graphic scenery designer for Windows 95 and FS5/FSFW95. A real enhancement compared to the previous Dos versions.
The whole "Airport" versions work with the Scasm BGL compiler realised by my friend Manfred Moldenhauer. Without Manfred's and many other good guys freeware works like Maurizio Gavioli, Hiroo Umeno, Enno Borgsteede, John Blackie, Adam Szofran, Enrico Schiratti, Konstantin Kukushkin and many others, all the BGL works would have not been possible.
Please make all your FS contributions freeware!
