Mikko Maliniemi

My name is Mikko Maliniemi. I am a 23 year old student from Finland, northern Europe. Currently I study information technology at North Carelia Polytechnics in Joensuu. I should become an engineer someday. I have a lovely girlfriend Virpi and almost as lovely cat named Jehu. Fortunately Virpi doesn't tear every piece of furniture apart. I have always had an interest in aviation because my dad has his pilots license. I was in a plane first time when I was about two years old so I think I can say that I have been an "aviator" for almost all my life. When I manage to finish school, I have a set purpose to have my own license too. Unfortunately that isn't possible in the current situation.

Luckily someone invented flight simulators. I have messed around with them since Microsoft Flight Simulator 3. My designers career began when I got my hands on the Internet a few years ago and I noticed that there were very few Finnish planes available. So, I needed to start making them by myself. I started as a repainter but then I decided to try my wings on making my own planes. I purchased AF5 and began experimenting. For my first project I took a simple looking aerobatic plane and I am still on that same road.

Most (read almost every one) of my projects have been related to aerobatics. I could say that aerobatics is the form of aviation I like the best. For some reason it seems that big jets are the most wanted planes in the business, but I am trying to fight against it... Well, I must admit that I have a few airliners in my FS hangar too, so that's it about my credibility (just kidding). The planes you can expect from me in the future are most likely somehow related either in aerobatic planes or Finnish aviation. But that doesn't mean that there wouldn't be something else coming too. So, keep on eye for my name. Every time you see it, there is something good coming...
