Louis is the designer and primary developer of FS Design Studio
Pro from Abacus Software. He also created FS Action!
Scenery (also sold by Abacus) which evolved from the freeware
'DynMaker' program that simplifies the creation of dynamic scenery for MS
Flight Simulator. He currently lives in Minneapolis with his wife, ten year old son, two cats, and a mini-daschund named 'Killer.' His wife Suzanne is a professional magician. Louis has been a professional musician, music teacher, music producer, graphic artist, video producer, web site designer, and software developer, depending on the current need and/or whim. He currently works for Minnetonka Software and Minnetonka Audio Software as a 'real job.'
He first became a flightsim fanatic with a flight simulator that ran on the Timex-Sinclair computer. The machine had to be beefed up to an incredible 16K (yes K) of RAM in order to run the sim. Later, he advanced to a flightsim written by Microprose (the title is long forgotten) and then finally to the Commodore 64 version of SubLogic's Flight Simulator II (identical to the Microsoft sim at the time). SubLogic later did an Amiga version of FSII which he promptly purchased. Finally, about the time that Microsoft released Flight Simulator V5.1, Louis joined the rest of the world and bought a WinTel box. Of course, Microsoft Flight Simulator was one of the first software purchases!
Louis became very interested in three dimensional graphics applications and virtual reality ten years ago. After using 3D graphics programs for video and animation work, he was frustrated by the lack of CAD type design programs for use with Flight Simulator. This spurred the development of FS Design Studio.
Louis currently flies Microsoft Flight Simulator 2000, X-Plane from Laminar Research, Looking Glass Technologies' Flight Unlimited III, and Terminal Reality's Fly!. He is also a student pilot based out of Crystal Airport (KMIC) in Crystal, Minnesota, just outside of Minneapolis.
