one of those people who has to look up every time I hear an airplane
engine overhead. I'm also one of those people who insists on taking
everything apart to see how it works.
Being technically inclined I found my self naturally drawn to
computers. I've been working with them as a computer animator/artist
for most of my adult life now. Only after I purchased a machine for
home & started buying games did I discover MS Flight Sim (not that MS
FS is a game). Since then I've become addicted.
About a year or so ago I got involved with the WWW. Because of work I had to learn HTML programing. I decided to build a small site just to get used to the code. I needed material for this site so I decided to make it all about flight simulation. The Cyber Sky flight sim site was born. I never really intended anyone except for a few friends to see it. However after asking a few other flight sim sites to add links to my site, I suddenly realized that I had a popular site on my hands. After about a year the site had become just about as busy as I could deal with. As much fun as it was to run, it was never my intention to be doing so. Therefor I quit running it. Instead of closing the site, I gave the hole kit & caboodle to a friend named Troy Meyer. He's been running it ever since.
Next to MS Flight Sim I think the one other piece of software that I have really gotten involved with is BAO Flight Simulator Flight Shop. I found its CAD/CAM like interface very similar to the animation software I use at work. I built several aircraft & posted them on my flight sim site. In a matter of a few days, people were writing to me from all over the world about them.
It's my hope that I can continue to be part of the world wide flight sim community. I've witnessed its amazing explosion on the Internet in the last few years & I'm proud to have been a small part of it.
Happy Simming.
