I must say I was honored when asked by Nels Anderson to write a few words
for inclusion in the Who's Who section at FlightSim.Com. I guess, like most
of you, I've been so used to seeing the names here over the years, due to
their great contributions to this fabulous hobby of ours, so to be asked if
I would like to join the ranks of these talented simmers was indeed very
flattering.I've been hooked on flight simulation for many years, after first trying SOLO, by Micropose, and then SubLogic's Flight Simulator Version 2, both running on my trusty Commodore 64.
My 'real' job as an application developer goes back as many years also, and I still enjoy it as much now as I did then. So it was inevitable, once the tools were available, that I would combine the two.
Initially my efforts were very simple and designed purely to enhance my own enjoyment and provide the functionality I personally believed was missing.
Friends were soon encouraging me to share my efforts and so, without even realising or planning it, I was soon joining the ranks of the flight simulator add-on developer...and I'm still enjoying every minute of this too!
One GREAT thing that's come from all this is the many, many nice people I've been in contact with over the years and it's surprising how you can soon build up a very strong, virtual, friendship. I've also been very lucky to meet many of them personally and am planning to meet many more in the near future.
So many thanks to all those that have used my utilities and programs over the years and for your continued support. I hope to be developing much more for you in the future.
Cheers for now.
