was
born on June 2 1975 in Leiderdorp, The Netherlands, where I
still live today. Not much happened until 1987, when I got my first
computer, a Commodore C64. I tried to learn about flight simulator on that
machine, but it was really too slow to be useful. When I was 15 (1990) I got my first PC and started using Flight Sim 2. I've always been interested in progamming and I started writing flightsim addons. My first addon was a flightsim frontend which could position you at a certain airports and create random flight assignments. When AAF came out in 1992, I wrote AAFPLUS, UNAAF and AEDIT, which where a compiler, a decompiler and an adventure editor.
In 1996 I wrote BGLPLAN, which was distributed along with a flight simulator book here in The Netherlands. At this time, I started moving more towards UNIX programming and in late 1997, when the first Squawkbox/ProController experiments where done, I joined the team and started working on the servers which now form the SB/PC worldwide ATC network. This is what I'm still doing today.
My goal has always been to provide free valuable addons for flight simulator. Currently I'm involved in a local project, designing a working 747-400 cockpit.
