remember the day I first saw this panel and started to scream. The
day I received the panel I finished screaming! It was worth the wait,
and once I was up and flying with VIP's new 757/767 panel - I really
felt FSFW95 had become a Boeing 757 or 767 simulator.
As you can see from the photo, this panel is as close as anything any
flightsimmer has seen to the real Boeing cockpit. VIP has done a
remarkable job recreating the scale and location of all guages.
Functionality is the same as the stock 737-400 panel Microsoft
provided us with, with two exceptions - the OM, MM, and IM lights
which are missing, as well as the overhead fuel and light switches. I
believe VIP plans on adding these to new panels.
The panel is as simply installed as any panel. I strongly advise using a panel manager program like PANMAN. I always have trouble editing the PANELSET.FS6 file with new panels, and using any shareware manager will make installation of this panel a breeze also.
There is not to much to say about this great addition to FSFW95 except that if you're a fan of airliner flying, you must get this. I just can not see flying any airliner realistically unless you have the real cockpit panel to match the plane you're flying. With the flexibility in FSFW95 panels, now we really can be demanding on panel designers, and by golly - the team at VIP will clearly dazzle us in the future as well.
At the time of writing this review, I believe VIP now includes some 757 or 767 aircraft with their panels. The quality of the panel leads me to believe their aircraft must be great as well.
If I had a hat, I'd throw it off to the VIP team for producing this outstanding panel - one which many will base their own designs on. I won't fly my 757 without it!
