Pennsylvania - New Jersey 98
Scenery
By Iair Arcavi (3 December 1998)

PA-NJ 98 is the first commercial scenery by well know designer Justin Tyme.
Generally, this is definitely a very nice scenery.
It includes many airports, from the small dirt runways in the middle of nowhere to the large international airports next to the major urban areas.
The scenery has very nice ground textures, even though I noticed that changing the water textures might be a good idea, because they didn't seem very real. The cities are very detailed with many buildings, bridges, stadiums, antennas, etc. There are many roads and highways as well, and even many highway intersections.
The airports are done very nicely also, with gates in the terminals and a few planes parked around the airport here and there.
Philadelphia Intl. has a runway in construction and the author added parts of the unfinished runway and large piles of sand which really make for a nice treat when looking out the window just after takeoff.
Frame rates are generally ok, however when flying near dense areas, including airports, they may drop quite a bit, or at least did in my machine. However, by lowering the complexity level, some buildings disappear and the frame rates rise.

The scenery comes with a very nice installation program, such as every professional scenery should. It also comes with textures for the fall, spring and summer seasons, which can be installed at the press of a button.
Another thing I liked about this scenery is that most city buildings and airport terminals are more than just plain buildings. For example, some buildings in major cities have different shapes and textures than regular default buildings. Some airport terminals are also textured very nicely.

When flying in this scenery one can immediately notice the professional quality.
There are no unnecessary details which do nothing but
take up frame rates (like a man reading a newspaper inside a building or something, that
one never even notices aside from the frame rate drop it causes). The buildings, bridges
roads, rivers, are all very eye pleasing when flying around.
I would definitely recommend this scenery to people who live in this area and want a good representation of their home town. Actually I would recommend this scenery to anyone who flies in this area, since it definitely adds a nice experience when flying with this scenery installed, rather than the default FS representation of this area.
