irst off I would like
to say that this is one of the best if not the best Russian aircraft
for Flight Simulator 2000. This fine Aeroflot Ilyushin IL-86 is made
by Dmitry Olenin and Dmitry Colesnik. He has done a superb job on it!
For my first flight in it, I chose Aeroflot Flight 298,
Barcelona, Spain, to Moscow Sheremetyevo, Russia. As you can see
in these screen shots I started at Barcelona in the daytime. I got my
departure info and was cleared to pushback for engine startup. The
scenery I used is the
Airport 2000 Volume 2 scenery of Barcelona
International Airport. I also used
FSAssist and
FSTraffic.
The aircraft model is very good. There's a general lack of Russian planes for flightsimming, but this one is a gem! It has full moving parts and night lighting (with the tail and landing lights). The aircraft modeling and texture are very accurate. The only thing it needs is animated thrust reversers.
I took off from Barcelona without any problems and flew the long route uneventfully. It was just getting dark as I descended into Moscow. I punched in my NAV 1 frequency for the ILS approach for runway 7L. I had to be careful of a Tupolev TU-154M from St. Petersburg landing ahead of me, and wake turbulence of an Ilyushin IL-62 departing on 7R for Budapest. This plane is very easy to fly manually on approaches, so I brought her in for a nice soft landing deployed the spoilers and reverse thrust. I taxied to terminal 2, and parked at the gate, shut down and turned off all my systems.
If you were wondering what add-ons I used, for the panel I
used Oscar Nava's fine IL-86 panel for FS98
(IL86V1PN.ZIP),
and Airport 2000 Volume 2 scenery for Barcelona.
At the end of my trip I used the Moscow Sheremetyevo International
Airport scenery
(UUEE_V31.ZIP)
by Dmitry Olenin also, and FSAssist and FSTraffic by LAGO.
All in all this is one of my favorite planes to fly, Definitely a keeper! And it deserves a whopping 98 out of 100! Great job by all the designers.
