Now, I am a loyal flightsim fan. I'm training for my PPL now and I am AMAZED at how realistic FS2000 is! Not much needs to be changed. I like that water plane idea in the forum, so they can actually land 'in' the water and not 'on' it. I'm realatively happy with the terrain detail. The main city areas have all the main sites. There are some things I'd like to see changed:
1: Parking brakes are not gentle little things, they're wheel locking devices. If these are applied on touchdown, the aircraft will lock wheels and there would be a dam large amount of blue smoke and an intensely loud tire screeching noise. This of course only applies to pneumatic parking brakes. Hydraulic parking brakes don't have the power to stop the wheels going round on a 737 after touchdown.
2: Interactive ATC. The kind of IATC you would find in Flight Unlimited III would be PERFECT for any of the Microsoft flightsims.
3: GPWS stock version. GPWS should not be an adventure for FS98/FS2000. It should be something that comes as stock with all the big jets in the Microsoft sims.
4: Realistic air accidents. Although this is something that would not be happening all the time in my games, but it needs to be there for the realism. Once again going back to the air accidents in FU3, the plane breaks apart and there are intense grinding noises as the aircraft hurtles down the runway as an engine fire causes an explosion during take-off.
5: FSNavigator as stock. FSNav is truly the best navigating program for FS98/FS2000. Although you won't actually be able to see your aircraft fly along the map in real flight, it's still a great flight plan creator.
6: Story lines. A story line example: You're a pilot working for a new airline and you're being given flights to carry out. Each flight you do earns you money which you can use to enhance you current personal aircraft or use to buy a new plane.
Most of the above things will probably not need a 234504 MHz PC. That's probably one thing that everyone doesn't want. If FS2002 is anything like the things I've mentioned, it will truly be the best, most realistic flight sim EVER made.
