Almost a month ago we introduced AVAL to the flight simming community. This lite version of American Airlines is not unique as a VA, there are several and in their own rite are very popular. This was a VA that originally started as a private VA to supplement two military style VA's we operate. We needed an outlet from the heavy medal and the Korean war effort of the 1950's. So AVAL was conceived. When I first introduced it in early November, within three days of airing here at FlightSim.Com we processed over 81 applicants, of these we actually had one third become active as many were young children and others were speculators. We cleaned out the no shows and made some changes to the documentation that clarifies new member requirements. This includes a minimum age requirement, some VA experience, the use of flight tracking software such as Kacars which we use exclusively, we utilize Teamspeak to deal with setup issues and other problems, meaning we don't use snale mail (email) to resolve problems. It was the lack of this information that opened Pandora's box.
If you have VA experience and you're familiar with the various flight tracking software used by today's VAs and you're looking for a very lite program with limited structure, meaning the extent of the structure is you have three days from your application date to make your maiden flight or be scratched. Once you have made your initial flight you have 90 days to make your next flight or the system will scratch you from the roster.
There is no VATSIM requirement, aircraft restrictions or predetermined route schedules. You create your routes, chose your aircraft and make your flight, file a pirep. The whole program is based on a charter system. We refer to it as the free flight mode or "Freedom to fly your Sim".
So your welcome to stop by, there are no hidden links our doors are open unlike most of the sites you go to. Where you need to register before you can see what is inside. We hide nothing.
