The past August 29th was the celebration of the 5th anniversary of Tame Virtual, the only virtual airline operating in Ecuador and one of the oldest in South America.

This virtual airline started operations after various failed attempts from several people to create Tame (Ecuador's national carrier) virtual airline but finally was created on the 29 of August 2006 by a group of enthusiasts and friends leaded by Nicolas Larenas the actual president of the virtual airline and actual events director and public relations manager for VATSUR (South American Vatsim division).

Years have passed and Tame Virtual has grown as one of the most important and active virtual airlines in the world and now offers the virtual pilots exclusive applications like the state of the art SRA2.0 flight reporting utility, the actual Tame fleet with complete aircraft to fly and several repaints for payware models that also include the historical fleet of aircraft that Tame flew in the past. Tame Virtual also has a dedicated bilingual staff that serves the pilots' needs with direct online assistance. Tame Virtual also offers a forum with very detailed historic information from Ecuadorian and South American aviation.

The most important feature of this VA is that it has full support of the real airline in its operation and offers for the annual meetings visits to the Tame fleet aircraft, and instruction from real airline pilots assigned for virtual pilots to ask questions and learn, also Tame gives prizesto themost active pilot of the year that includes a plane round trip to the Galapagos Islands for free and several other prizes for winners in games and trivia organized in the reunions.

At our 5th year celebration reunion Tame Virtual pilots and staff were gathered in the Mariscal Sucre Air Force Base in Quito for a luncheon that included a visit to one of the Tame's Embraer 190 aircraft.

We at Tame Virtual are happy to celebrate with our pilots and airline our first 5 years of operation and we expect to welcome new pilots from around the globe to come and enjoy flying in Ecuador's airspace considered one of the most challenging in the world.

Actually Tame Virtual'sfigures are: Total of pilots signed: more than 2500, total flights reported: 23.168, total miles flown: 3,147.136, with a day with most traffics online 12-17-06 with 127 flights.
