Borderline Sim - Knoxville-Downtown Island Released

The second scenery in a series of southeastern USA general aviation airports from Borderline Flight Sim is Knoxville Downtown Island Airport (KDKX). The Knoxville Downtown Island airport is a small general aviation facility serving the city of Knoxville, TN. It is located on an island on the French Broad River about one-half mile east of downtown. The airport has one 3500 foot runway, 8-26, and is uncontrolled, although a temporary tower is set up at the airfield for events such as University of Tennessee football games. An actual tower stood at the airfield until it was demolished in 2007 for asbestos related concerns. It is also an FAA designated reliever for the McGhee-Tyson International Airport.
