"... This year 2010, sees one of the Internet's premier virtual airlines, British Airways Virtual, celebrate 10 years in existence! The only UK virtual airline to be formally ratified by its real world counterpart organisation, British Airways Virtual will mark the occasion by holding their first General Conference Meeting (GCM) in late May at a venue close to Heathrow Airport in London.
Operating with the full knowledge and permission of British Airways PLC thanks to the signing of a landmark legal agreement in July of 2002, members of the VA, along with members of the Board of British Airways Virtual, the Training Captains and others among the Management Team, will be meeting face-to-face with the pilot members and their partners, for the first time to be greeted by welcome drinks, a full three-course banquet dinner and an after-dinner entertainment event, including an awards ceremony and speeches from some very special guests invited to speak at the event.
Day two of the event will feature a closed session Agenda Meeting for members and management of the VA, after which members will be able to avail themselves of lunch before dispersing as they see fit. As well as pilot members from the UK, we will have members attending from as far away as Lima in Peru, Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, Spain and Finland. At least three of our members attending are serving line pilots with their respective real world airlines.
Whilst we have some sponsorship in place, we are happy to entertain offers of sponsorship from aviation related companies and organisations who might want to talk to a captive audience in return for a good dinner and some friendly banter with some very dedicated and experienced virtual pilots.
