Piedmont Virtual Airlines has recently become the latest virtual airline in the community. Actual flight operations will begin by the end of the month. President David Reed and Vice President Don Burgess have stated it is their intention to operate an "historically correct" virtual airline true to the Piedmont traditions. "We will be using only aircraft operated by Piedmont Airlines between 1948 and 1989," said Mr. Reed. "For accuracy, we will schedule flights using actual Piedmont timetables." Mr. Reed and Mr. Burgess both have experience in several previous virtual airlines, including the now-defunct piedmontva. "We really like the historical aspect of operations within a classic airline like Piedmont. We will not represent Piedmont as it may have become, but instead as it once was, from its inception in 1948 until the merger in 1989."
