How To Do A Spin On Your Flight Simulator
By Chloe Holmes
This article offers step-by-step instructions on how to do a spin on
a ight simulator. It's known to work with FS98, and should work on
newer versions as well.
Inside:
Make sure the option "Autocoordination"is off.
- Line up with a reference point such as a building, or a road.
- Reduce power and slow to about 90 knots.
- Add back pressure to raise the nose to about 40 degrees, and glance
at the left wing to establish a correct pitch attitude.
- While holding back pressure, completely close the throttle. You'll
need to increase back pressure as the airplane decelerates. Again
look at the left wing to maintain the right pitch attitude.
- Just before you stall, smoothly pull the stick back and apply and
hold full rudder in the direction you want to spin. The nose will
fall toward the vertical as the spin starts.
- Hold the stick full back and maintain full rudder. Look out over the
nose and count the number of turns.
- To stop the spin, apply full rudder in the opposite direction of the
rotation and relax back pressure to break the stall. As soon as the
spin stops, neutralize the rudder. Ease back on the stick as airspeed
builds. Add power as the nose drops to the horizon.
