CABIN VIEWS OF FLT SIM 2000 AIRCRAFT
I've tried to get cabin views of the default to no avail. How is it done? I
can't find instructions or the right keys...Help
The cabin views are an option that you can choose when installing FS2K. You
have to make sure to check the option.

In the Fs2000.cfg file in the main directory is a line saying:
See_self=1 Change this to see_self=0 and you will not see interior.

DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO GET PUSHBACK TO WORK?
F2 works in FS98 but only increases engine revs in FS2000 (even with brakes
off).
Chris
Looks like you'll need FPDA's pushback gauge. It's available for download here.
It's a nice unit.

HOW CAN I CHANGE THE SPOT VIEW QUICKLY?
I usually fly in spot plan mod so I can orient myself easily while flying my
helicopter on my laptop using my keyboard. FS2000 has changed how the
SHIFT-Arrow keys change the view. In FS98 SHIFT Arrow would look from the side
at 90 degrees from the spot plan. In FS2000 the change in view is graduated
slowly with multiple key presses.
Does anyone know what changes to make to make this work like it did in FS98
short of executing FS98?
Thanks,
Jim
So far as I know, no one has found the view mechanism you're asking about. I,
too, miss the "snap" view change mode from spot view.

HOW DO LOOK DOWN FROM THE PLANE (IT USED TO BE NUMBER 5 IN FS 98) OR SCAN 360
WITH A JOYSTICK HAT BUTTON?
I don't know of a "hat button" way to go, but the keyboard commands for panning
aren't that hard. In cockpit view,
Shift-Enter pans down (360° if needed)
Shift-Backspace pans up (again clear around)
Ctrl-Shift-Enter pans to the right (all the way)
Ctrl-Shift-Backspace pans to the left (in a full circle or more)
Ctrl-Spacebar centers the forward view again.
In the spot plane view, the above all work, but the keypad keys with NumLock on
or in combination with the Shift key, allow you to "pan" the view point, up,
down and all around too. A good way to sight-see!

Correction from Nick how to do it with the "HAT BUTTON":
Go in FS2000 to Options/Controls/Assignments and select in the table the line
"Pan View left". Then push the button "Change Assignment" and move the hat
button on the joystick to the left; in the joystick-column the text "Button 39"
shows up. Then click OK. Next select the line Pan View right, move the hat
button right and the text "Button 35" appears. Click OK.
Do the same with the lines Pan View up and Pan View down.
Set all the "repeat scales" in these lines to full.
That's it and you got all the wonderfull, 360 degrees view movements in your hand,
either in cockpit view and in spot plane view.
HOW DO YOU GET REVERSE THRUST TO WORK?
Just bought FS2000 and use it with my CH Virtual Pilot yoke and rudder pedals
but I cannot get reverse thrust. In the manual it shows the throttle stack
with reverse thrust levers but these do not appear on the panel.. Can anyone
help as I am lurching down the runway and wearing out my wheel brakes..
Peter.
The reverse thrust in FS2000 isn't as abrupt as FS98. It has more graduations
than FS98 and at full deployment, still isn't as strong. You can either use the
panel levers or F1 followed by multiple NumPad 3 keys should give you all there
is!

HOW CAN I ZOOM-OUT EVEN MORE IN THE PLANE-VIEW?
>Hi Everyone,
>
>On downloaded aircraft, when I push "s" to get outside the
>plane it is extremely zoomed in. I push "-" sign to zoom out but when I'm as
>far away from the aircraft as possible I'm still too near
>(can't even see the whole wing). Is there anyway I can fix this?
>Thanks
The answer to your question is very simple. After you have loaded FS2000
bring up your menu headers, select the view menu then go to the view options
and that will open a window, select spot plane and on the right of
the screen you can see where you can select view distance that should
fix your problem.

I'M HAVING TROUBLE STARTING THE ENGINES IN REALISTIC MODE!
>I'm having trouble starting the jet engines in Fs2000
>I can autostart with Ctrl E but when set to realistic mode
>I cant manualy start and keep them running
Activate the throttle panel, press E + 1 and J + 1, now you
have selected engine no. one, then press + and hold it down,
keep it down ! Now the pressurized air is going trough the
engine wait until N2 stabilized around 20 % then move your
mouse down to the fuel switch below the throttles and open
for the fuel. Then the engine should spin up, like in the
real world ! Copy this for engine no. 2
HOW TO INSERT GPS WAYPOINTS INTO YOUR FS2000 GPS
Check out the Microsoft FS2000 web page. They do give you some informationon
about the flight plan files (.PLN files). After reading the information there
I was able to add some Lat/Lon points into my flight plans.
What you have to do is this:
1) Make a flight plan in FS2000 (minus the Lat/Lon points of interest).
2) Copy that *.PLN file to another directory for editing.
3) Rename the copy with a *.txt extension instead of the *.PLN extension.
4) Use Notepad to edit the .txt file to add the Lat/Lon information
(see example below).
5) Rename *.txt back to *.PLN.
6) Copy back to the FS2000/Pilots folder (yes, overwrite the original*.PLN).
Example: for a flight from Toronto-Pearson to London-Heathrow
